Corsendonk Turnova is a city hotel in the centre of Turnhout and is Green Key certified. Our hotel has been independently assessed and meets the criteria of the Green Key standard. We continuously work to improve our environmental performance, while keeping the comfort you are used to.
The certification
Green Key is an internationally recognised sustainability certification for tourism and leisure businesses, such as hotels, meeting venues and attractions. It is managed internationally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE); in Belgium it is coordinated by GoodPlanet Belgium.
To obtain and keep the certification, a business must meet strict criteria on energy, water, waste, cleaning, food, green spaces, staff involvement and guest information, among others. The certification is checked regularly, so businesses must keep improving.
The Green Key certification confirms conformity with the Green Key criteria at the time of assessment. For you as a guest, this means the business has been independently assessed on environmental management and corporate social responsibility.
Our approach
We work towards lower energy use, including LED lighting and smart control of heating and cooling.
Water-saving shower heads and taps help us limit water use. We only wash towels and sheets when you ask us to.
We sort our waste and work to reduce single-use plastic. In the bathrooms you will find refillable toiletries.
At breakfast and in the bar we choose local, seasonal produce wherever possible. We pay attention to quantities to limit food waste.
In our wellness area we choose energy-efficient installations and carefully selected care products.
Meetings can be paperless, with water in carafes and local catering. This way we help you meet more mindfully in Turnhout.
The hotel is within walking distance of Turnhout station and city centre. We are happy to help with information on bike rental and public transport.
Our team receives training on environmental management. You will also receive tips to stay mindfully yourself.
