We are exploring the option of letting you skip room cleaning. For every room that skips cleaning, we plant a tree in partnership with Hotels for Trees. Our door hangers have already been replaced with wooden ones for this.
Green Key certification
Holder of the Green Key certification, in the heart of Turnhout.
Corsendonk Turnova is a city hotel in the centre of Turnhout and is Green Key certified. Our hotel has been independently assessed and meets the criteria of the Green Key standard. We continuously work to improve our environmental performance, while keeping the comfort you are used to.
The certification
Green Key is an internationally recognised sustainability certification for tourism and leisure businesses, such as hotels, meeting venues and attractions. It is managed internationally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE); in Belgium it is coordinated by GoodPlanet Belgium.
To obtain and keep the certification, a business must meet strict criteria on energy, water, waste, cleaning, food, green spaces, staff involvement and guest information, among others. The certification is checked regularly, so businesses must keep improving.
The Green Key certification confirms conformity with the Green Key criteria at the time of assessment. For you as a guest, this means the business has been independently assessed on environmental management and corporate social responsibility.
Our approach

Our apple juice now comes from a local fruit grower in Turnhout (Corso).
We are expanding our breakfast buffet with organic, fairtrade and short-supply-chain products.
When buying products and materials, we always check for the Ecolabel or FSC label.
We are renewing our buffet presentation materials and matching the selection more closely to what guests actually take. That way, less goes to waste.
We are renewing all locks, so that lighting and ventilation switch off automatically after a set time.
Our own shuttle bus transports guests together, instead of separate taxis.
At the orange juice machine we use smaller glasses, so less goes to waste.
Turnova lies in the middle of Turnhout, close to restaurants, culture and the green Kempen. Our Green Key certification is part of our efforts to reduce our impact on the environment step by step, while you enjoy every comfort.
